Biography
Walter is a freelance writer and watercolorist, dividing time between the two. He is currently serving as Historian for the Incorporated Village of Lloyd Harbor. He is also a Trustee for the Lloyd Harbor Historical Society, and a member of the Caumsett Foundation History Committee. As an artist, his primary interest is in painting Long Island landscapes, seascapes and historic sites. Trying to capture what remains of Long Island's quickly vanishing beauty has been a major artistic concern. Walter has exhibited at the Three Harbors Garden Club show at Oheka Castle, several juried shows at the East End Arts Council, four solo exhibits at the Cold Spring Harbor Library and one at the Locust Valley Library. He has participated in an exhibition at the Hutchins Gallery, C.W. Post College and a juried show at the Borghese Gallery. Currently, he is working on a watercolor book about the legacy of the glacial moraines and outwash plains of Long Island. He has contributed numerous articles to The New York Times.
