Biography
Pat was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky and has lived on Long Island since 1967. With a passion for art, her education has always included courses to enrich her talent. Her chosen career path as a registered nurse has also provided her with numerous rich and personally rewarding experiences. Having raised two wonderful children of her own, she now enjoys many happy moments with her five beautiful grandchildren. Retirement has provided the opportunity for Pat to pursue her lifelong love of watercolors. The love of transparent watercolors has driven her to reach many milestones as she continues to capture the beauty of floras, local scenes, and landscapes from the United States and Europe. She has studied under the direction of Adelaide Silkworth, a renowned local artist. She also continues to pursue her growth in the arts by participating in specialty seminars and workshops in various parts of the United States and has recently become a member of the Long Island Art League to continue honing her skills. Pat’s work has been shown at numerous art shows at Stony Brook Cultural Center, Harbor Hills Country Club and Port Jefferson Community Center. Her art has been in juried competition in Port Jefferson, NY. She has displayed her paintings at the All Care Physical Therapy and Wellness Center in Baldwin, NY and. She has also enjoyed the pleasure of creating commissioned work.
